Almost overnight, neighbourhood houses were forced to transform their service model in response to the coronavirus pandemic. From developing working from home arrangements and moving classes online, to takeaway food deliveries, and embracing new technologies as a way of staying connected to communities – it has been a steep, yet highly beneficial learning curve. It’s forced our sector out of its comfort zone by pushing us to experiment, develop and innovate.
As we start to re-open, a new normal arises. It’s time to look to the future, taking in all we’ve experienced in the last three months, and how we can apply it moving forward.
