Support for Afghani refugees
Join our national fundraising campaign for Afghani refugees who are impacted by the current events unfolding in Afghanistan
We watch the tragic events unfolding in Afghanistan with deep sadness. Our hearts are with the Afghani people who are suffering mass displacement and those who have lost their lives and their loved ones.
The United Nations has reported that over 270,000 people have been displaced this year alone.
Now is the time for our nation-wide sector of over 1,000 neighbourhood houses/centres to rally together to support those impacted.
Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association (ANHCA) is collecting donations on behalf of the neighbourhood and community house and centre sector. We encourage our members to host a morning tea or similar event to raise money to donate to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre for those who are fleeing Afghanistan.
Sign the petition to increase the intake of Afghanis into Australia via https://www.actionforafghanistan.com.au/
Host a morning tea or similar event (or another type of fundraising initiative)
Request a minimum gold coin donation from each attendee.
During the event, post a photo or video message of support to your organisation’s Facebook page and other social accounts. Make sure to use the hashtag #NHNeighboursforAfghanis so we can share it.
Total the funds collected and make a donation to ANHCA via GoFundMe
After the money has been distributed, we will publish a list of donors and recipients to the ANHCA website. If you have any questions regarding the campaign, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
